Remember the story of how the Nigeria Police triggered the freedom of three kidnapped students of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU)?
Well, that story is untrue. And that is according to relatives of the released abductees.
Kaduna police command, had on Wednesday, said the three students were released by their abductors who panicked following a police operation to comb the area the students were been held.
The security agency never mentioned that ransom was paid.
But a relative of one of the ABU students now says the police lied.
Presidential media aide Bashir Ahmad, who shared news of the “gallant police rescue” on Twitter, has retracted his comments and questioned why the police would want to reap where they did not sow.
