“Linda Ikeji still living in mental bondage”

Facebook feminist Nkechi Bianze has voiced her opinion about blogger Linda Ikeji’s babydaddy drama.

Read:

I do NOT have a problem with Linda Ikeji having a child out of wedlock.

I’m an advocate of “Women have your kids before 40, married or not.”

What Linda Ikeji did is what I advocate for.

I have said it several times that I will DEFINITELY have two children before 35, married or not.

I do NOT have a problem with anyone having a child out of wedlock. A child is a child. And a paper certificate does NOT make any child more valid than the other. Those legitimacy or illegitimacy of kids based on their parents’ marital status is something I’ve always regarded as a BULLSHIT narrative drafted and peddled by a world so obsessed with marriage.

What I do have a problem with is her “saintly” attitude. She keeps calling God even when she has continuously deviated from the prescription of the God she’s calling.

What I do have a problem with is the fact that she has shamed single mothers and thus feels the need to explain why she’s now a single mother.

I do have a problem with her obsession to keep appearing as a good woman in a society that doesn’t give a fuck about her.

I do have a problem with the fact that she is desperate to continuously seek validation.

Her problem is that she has painted herself as a saint who doesn’t have sex “anyhow”, and suddenly, she’s a mother to the child of a man who doesn’t give a fuck about her.

I’m an advocate of divorce when a marriage is not working.
I do NOT have a problem with women being single mothers.
I do NOT have a problem with unmarried people having children.

If tomorrow I get pregnant out of wedlock, I won’t have to write an epistle explaining shit to anyone. Because I haven’t posted myself as a saint. In short, these are things people even expect from me.

Someone should advise Linda. The Nigerian society will NEVER love her. She’s a successful unmarried single mother who is almost 40. She represents the kind of woman the Nigerian society hates. If she continues basing her happiness on the societal validation, she might suffer a heart attack before 50, or become so depressed and suicidal before 45.

Someone should buy her the book of “The Art of NOT Giving a Fuck”.

Jeez!

Why should a rich 38-year-old woman think she owes anyone an explanation for having sex?

I’m beginning to feel pity for her. Because no matter how rich you are, if you haven’t broken free mentally from that shackle of trying too hard to be the “good virtuous woman”, you will NEVER enjoy your life.

I might be wrong but I feel Linda is still living in a mental bondage, and she needs help to break-off.
