Ekweremadu to spend second day with EFCC

Interrogators are waiting for Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu at the headquarters of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for another day of questioning, reports say.

After inviting and grilling him for several hours, EFCC on Tuesday allowed Ekweremadu go home. He faces questions over suspicious ownership of 22 properties said to be in Nigeria, United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates and United States of America.

“We were not satisfied with the answers he gave us yesterday (Tuesday), but we extended an administrative bail to him,” Premium Times quoted a source to have said.

“We are, however, waiting for him to return today for the second day of clarification,” the source said.
