The incident happened on Monday night. Adebola Williams (@DebolaLagos) posted a video of the incident on Twitter and Nigerians reacted.
They described Ogodo’s action as “shameful”, “disgraceful” and “chauvinistic”, and urged Arise TV to sanction the presenter. Critics also say Ogodo must apologise to the woman and the public.
“Rude and unprofessional,” Joe Abah tweeted.
“(He) must be sanctioned and must tender an apology on this same show,” Japhet Omojuwa tweeted in reaction to video of the shameful episode.
“This is unacceptable. You must do something and the public must see that you did something. This is disgraceful!”
Joshua Oluranti reacted to the video by tweeting:
“I saw this live last night and it left me lost. How rude and crude at the same time! The lady did great in taking the higher road to let it pass. Presenters, and indeed, journalists must strive to remain dispassionate in their quest to inform and educate.”
“I don’t think it’s chauvinism, he just a very rude person,” Enoch Alonge tweeted.
